What are the rules about donating to candidates?
- You must be an Irish citizen, eligible for Irish citizenship, or legally resident in the Republic of Ireland
- You must be over 18 years of age
- For any donations made that are over 126.97 Euros (per candidate in a calendar year), you must provide your personal details (in other words, any donations over 126.97 Euros cannot be made anonymously)
- For any donations made that are over 634.87 Euros (per candidate in a calendar year), the candidate must report your donation(s) and personal details to the Standards of Public Office Commission on a report filed after the election.
- No individual can make aggregate donations to any candidate in a calendar year that exceed 2539.48 Euros
